Let's have a conversation about fitness...

Fifteen years ago, I made the transition from journalism to personal training. Or, as I like to say, from "crafting adjectives" to "sculpting triceps."

It seems like a counterintuitive transition. But the two professions have much in common. 

As a journalist, my mantra was "everybody has a story." It was incumbent on me to find out what that story was, and to tell it truthfully and compellingly. As a personal trainer, my job is almost the same, albeit with a slight shift in semantics. Now, my job is to understand that "every body" has a narrative. I try to comprehend the fitness journey that people have undertaken and help them create a better (or different) path forward. 

That's the guiding principle behind this site: offering people (hopefully) valuable information that will help them navigate the complex world of fitness and health. I'll cover current topics in the industry, dispel some pervasive myths, and profile people who have made profound and positive changes in their lifestyles.
